Morgan Watkin 1659

In the name of God Amen the fourteenth day of May one thousand six hundred and fifty and nine.

I Morgan Watkin of Goytre in the County of Monmouth yeoman do make and ordain this my last will and testament in maner and form following:

First I comend my Soule to God the Father, Sonn and Holy Ghost my creator, redeemer and saviour.

Item: I give and bequeath to the Parson of Goytre towards my forgotten tythes the sume of five shillings.

Item: I give unto Margaret my beloved wife one messuage or tenement, woods and underwoods thereto belonging and all other lands and commodities thereto belonging during the term of her naturall life. And after her decease to George Thomas my nephew during the term of his naturall life only and after his decease to the next heirs of my body forever.

Item: I give to Sarah James my servant the sume of five pounds to be paid unto her after the decease of Margaret my wife.

Item: I give towards the poor people of the parish of Goytre two shillings to be distributed amongst them during the time nest two years after my decease.

Item: I do herby nominate and appoint my well beloved wife to be my executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness where of I have hereunto put my hand and seal this day and year above written.
