William Richard – Goytre

In the name of God Amen the 7th day of July 1722

I William Richard of ye pish of Goytre being in good health of body and sound and p’fect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God doe make and ordain this my present last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say);

First and principally I comend my soul into ye hands of Almighty God hopeing through ye meritts death and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ to have fully and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and may God comitt it to ye earth to be decently buried att ye discretion of my extrs. Hereaft5er named and as touching ye disposion of such good as God hath bestowed upon me I dispose of as foll;

Imp: I devise, give and bequeath unto my son Richard ye house wherein I do now inhabit and ye gardens and orchards, courts, lodges, stables yards and all ye appurtenances thereto belonging and ye brewhouse and one other house where Joan Richard now inhabits and all ye lands thereto belonging or any other part or pieces of lands that I have possessed but of waste ground called Pelleny and during ye term of ye natural life of ye said Richard without impeachment of waste.

And after my decease and for and after ye decease of Richard my said son I give and bequeath ye aforesaid houses and lands and all ye (paper creased) unto my daughter Mary during ye term of her natural life without impeachment of waste naturally, appurtenances and easements thereto belonging and after the decease of my said daughter Mary I do give and bequeath ye house wherin I now inhabit with all ye freehold thereunto belonging and all ye outhouses hereunto my grandchild Anne Evans ye daughter of William Evans of Langibby for and during the term of her natural life with impeachment of waste and after her decease I devise, give and bequeath ye said houses all the freehold with appurtenances unto my nephew William Ffrancis and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary all ye frey and corn groweing upon ye ground all my cattle and horses after my decease and all my household stuff except one long table in ye hall and one great vate wch lyeth upon ye standing in ye brewhouse.

My will is that they shall be as standers in ye house and that my son Richard is to have one vate ye wch lieth in ye brewhouse and all ye fores.d.

Goods that I bequested unto my daughter Mary is upon condition and consideration that she will pay all my just debts oweing to nominate appoint, ordain my daughter Mary to be sole executor of this my last will and testament.
