Elizabeth Richard – Goytre
In the name of God Amen the twelvfe day of December in the second yeare of the Reigne of o’r Sovraigne Lord James the second by the grace of God, of England Scottland France & Ireland, King & defender of the Faith &c, & in the yeare of o’r Lord God accordinge to the English computacon, one thousand six hundred eighty & six.
I Elizabeth Richard of Goytre in the County of Monmoth & Diocesse of Landaph widdow, beinge sicke in body but of good & p’ffecte memory God be praysed doe make & ordeyne my last Will & testam’t in manner & forme followinge (that is to say), first I doe commend my soule to Almighty God my maker & redeemer & my body to be buried in Christian buriall.
Alsoe I doe give & bequeath towards the Cathedrall Church of Landaph six pence.
Ite I doe give & bequeath unto Jane William my granchild three sheepes. Ite I doe give & bequeath unto the daughter of my younger? sonne William Richard the sum of forty shillings.
Ite I doe give & bequeath unto my daughter Joan Richard all the rest of my goodes cattells chattells implem’ts of houshould stuffe, corne growinge or in the barne moneys due to mee by specialties whatsoev’ excepte before by mee given and bequeathed & of this my last will & testam’t I doe nominate & appointe Joan Richard my sd daughter to be my sole executrix & doe disannull all other wills before by mee done.
In wittnesse whereof I have hereunto put my hand & seale the day month & yeare first above written further I doe order & appoint my executrix herein before named to deliver the pte of two rods? of wheate that I sowed uppon the lands of the upper end of the highway to be delivered unto my younger sonne William Richard.
