Thomas Jones – Goytrey

In the name of God Amen:

I Thomas Jones of the parish of Goytrey in the county of Monmouth, farmer, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:

I give, devise and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary Jones all that tenement house, orchard and garden being and situated in the parish of Llanvihangel juxta Pontymoile during the term of her widowhood and then unto my eldest son Thomas Jones, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns for ever.

I also give and bequeath unto my youngest son William Jones the sum of one and twenty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid when he comes of the age of one and twenty years, which sum of one and twenty pounds is to be laid out upon interest immediately after my decease by my said wife Mary Jones until he arrives at the age above mentioned and in case he, my said son William Jones will be unable to get his livelihood he is to be maintained by my said wife Mary Jones until he comes of the aforesaid age of one and twenty years, but should he, my said son William Jones die before he comes of the age of one and twenty years, the said sum of one and twenty pounds is to be equally divided between my son David Jones and my daughter Mary Jones when they come of the age of one and twenty years.

I also give and bequeath unto my said wife Mary Jones all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal goods, chattels and property whatsoever and wheresoever I may die possessed of during the lifetime of her widowhood, and then they are to be equally divided between her, my said wife Mary Jones and my sons, Thomas, David and William and my daughter Mary Jones abovementioned, and if my said wife Mary Jones continue my widow until her decease all my said personal goods, chattels and property whatsoever and wheresoever are to be equally divided between my said sons Thomas, David and William and my daughter Mary Jones.

I likewise constitute and appoint my said wife Mary Jones, whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made.

In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of October in the year 1804.
