William Griffiths 1814

In the name of God Amen I William Griffiths of the parish of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth labourer being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same do make this my last will and testament in manner and form. I give devise and bequeath unto my loving son William Griffiths all that messuage or tenement where in I now dwell called and known by the name of Glanynant and that piece or parcel of land called Cae ton glas situate in the parish of Goytrey aforesaid with all its appurtenances whatsoever and unto his heirs lawfully begotten during the term specified in the lease of the said tenement. And I do nominate constitute and appoint my said son William Griffiths sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all and every other will or wills at any time heretofore by me made and do declare this to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I the said William Griffiths have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of June in the year of our Lord 1812. The mark of William (X) Griffiths

Signed sealed declared and published by the above named William Griffiths as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. Thomas James; William James; Joseph Griffiths junr

26th April 1814. William Griffiths the lawful son & sole executor named in this Will was sworn to the truth thereof &c and that the goods &c do not amount in value to the sum of twenty pounds before me Benj Hall, Chancellor

Proved at Abergavenny on the 26th day of April 1814 on the oath of William Griffiths the son & sole exor
