William Hoskins – Goytrey

In the name of God Amen: I William Hoskins of the parish of Goytre in the county of Monmouth and diocese of Landaff, cordwainer, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and perfect memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following [that is to say:]

I desire to be buried in the burying ground of Hanover in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my executor, hereinafter named and appointed.

My temporal estate, I bequeath and dispose of in manner and form following:

Imprimis: from and after the decease of my father James Hoskins I give, devise and bequeath to my brother Phillip Hoskins, his heirs and assigns all that moiety of that messuage, land and tenement called Llwyn Cellyn, situate, lying and being in the several parishes of Lanover and Lanelen in the county of Monmouth, together with all right and title to said messuage and tenement as tenants in common with my brother Nathanial Hoskins by virtue of a certain deed or instrument of conveyance bearing date the twenty eighth of December one thousand eight hundred and two, to me belonging or appertaining:

To have and to hold to him, the said Philip Hoskins, his heirs and assigns for ever.

All the rest residue and remainder of my estate, goods chattels, bills, bonds with all other properties of what kind soever to me appertaining,

I give and bequeath unto my father James Hoskins whom I constitute and appoint sole executor of this my last will and testament:

And I do hereby utterly revoke, disallow and make void all former wills and legacies by me in any wise made or left declaring, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight.

William Hoskins

Signed, sealed, published and Declared by the within named Testator William Hoskins to be His last will and testament in thePresence of us, who subscribed our names in presence of said testator and of each other.
