Valentine Wm David – Goytrey

In the name of God Amen. I Valentine David of ye pish of Goytre in ye county of Monmouth and diocese of Landaff, labourer, being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory [thanks be to God] do ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker in hope of receiving pardon and forgiveness of all my sins through ye meritts of my saviour Jesus Xt. my body to be decently buried at ye discretion of my executrix herinafter named. And as for yt temporall goods & chattels it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I dispose of ye in manner following:

First: I give, devise and bequeath ye house in now I do live wth. ye lands belonging to it [or appears by ye lease] to Margarett my daughter for her natural life towards her maintenance I give her also one bed wth. everything appertaining to it, one iron small pott.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son John ye mare yt. is now in my possession.

Item: I give to my daughter Cecilia ye. calf yt is now bwd for ye cow yt is in my possession. Also I give her one feather bolster.

Item: I give to my daughter Mary one iron pott.

Item: My will is yt my son William to enjoy ye house and lands where I do live, after ye decease of my daughter Margarett, or sooner if he consents and agrees wth. ye executrix for payment of such rent [as shall be covenanted] during ye life of ye sd Margarett for and towards her maintenance.

Item: I give and bequeath ye house and small spott of ground adjoining where my son William now lives to my son John after ye decease of my sister Jane Wm David.

Item: My will is yt my debts and funeral expenses be paid wth all convenient speed after my decease by my executrix.

Lastly I give, devise and bequeath one cow to my daughter Jane yt is now in my possession and every thing after yt is not before bequeath or expressed.

I also ordain and nominate my sd daughter Jane to be sole executrix of this my last will and testament & to take care of her sister Margarett.

In witness hereof I have putt my hand and seal this 19th day of August 1714
