John Andrew Goytrey 1698

In the name of God Amen I John Andrew of the pishe of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth & diocesse of Landaph being of pfect memory thank be to Almighty God giving? a serious consideration of the frailty and uncertainty of this psent life wherefore doe hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament in maner and form following, viz:

First and pincipall I comende my soul into the hands of Almighty God my only maker hopeing through the meritts and passion of Christ Jesus my saviour to have remission of my sines and to be ptaker of everlasting life and my body to be buried in a cristian buriall within the pishe church of Goytrey aforesaid.

Item: I give devise and bequeath all and singular my messuages, lands and tenements whatsoever situate lying and being wheresoe within the said pishe of Goytre in the said county of Monmouth with thire and everie of thire unto John Watkin and John Richard of the said pishe of Goytre yeomen thire executors administrators or assigns for and dureing the full terme of five hundred years commence from the day of my decease and ensuing and fully to be ended without impeachment of wast upon this truff? And considered intent that they the said John Watkin and John Richard and the survivor if them thire executors administrators and assignes doe and shall out of the yearly rece… issues and pftts or by de.. or sale thereof or any pte thereof……thereopon growing or by unto and for my younger son John Andrew the cleere and full sume of fortey pownds without abatment for any taxes or payments by act of pliament or otherwise imposses or to be imposed on the pmisses or the said sume of money or either of them or any parte thereof and it is my will that the said fourty pownds be accordingly paide within the space of thirteen moneths next after my decease pvided nevertheless and I doe hereby declare that if my right and next heyre doe and shall well and truly pay unto my said son John Andrew the said sume of fourtye pownds without abatment as affores’d within the space of one whole yeare next after my decease and allso pay unto my grand sonne James Cowles the sonne of David Cowles the just? Sume of five pownds to be paid him at his adge of twentie and one yeares if he shall so long live. And not otherwise and if my said sonne William Andrew doe paie the said sume of fourty pownds unto my said sonne John and the said James Cowles in such time and space aforesaid that then the said terme of five hundred yeares to be voide determine and of none effect anything to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding and it is further my will intent and purpose that after such payment be made by my said sonne William Andrew in such maner and forme as afforesd that then and from thence the said William Andrew to have and to hould the p’misses aforesaid and everie pte therof for and during the terme of his natural life and after his decease to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such issue unto John Andrew my said sonne to the right and next heirs of the said John Andrew forever.

Item: I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne William Andrew one coobort, one table boarde, one bedsteede and beding clothes that lyeth in the chamber biggest iern barr, two iern sledgis, two lime? Hamers one brasse potte.

Item: It is my will that my said sonne William Andrew doe paie or cause to be paid the sume of three pownds which I doe owe by bond unto my brother law Walter Hary of Goytre aforesaid.

Item: I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne John Andrew whom I doe nominate and appoint to be sole executor of this my last will and testament except fouer kovers of graine corne now growing I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne William Andrew.

In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and sealle the fifteenth day of January in the fift yeare of thire Ma’sties raigne.
