In the name of God Amen I James William of the parish of Coitre in ye County of Monmouth yeoman being weak in body put of sound and perfect memory praise be to God do make this my last Will and Testament in maner and form folowing. First I recomend my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body I commit to the earth to be buried affter the maner of Christian buriall according to the discretion of my executrix hereafter named. Lastly I nominate and apoint Ann Lewis to be my sole executrix to whom I give and bequeath (affeter dischargeing my funerall expences) all my personal estate.

In wittness whereof I put my hand this nineteenth day of June 1744.

May the 5th 1747. Ann Lewis the sole executrix in the above Will named was sworn well & faithfully to execute the same to the truth of the in’ry &c and to render an account &c before me William Harris, Surrogate

This Will was proved at Abergavenny on the fifth day of May in the year of our Lord 1747 before the Revd Wm Harris, Clerk, AM, the Chancellor’s Surrogate by Ann Lewis the sole executrix therein named who was first upon the holy Evangelists personally sworn well & faithfully to execute the same to the truth of the inventory by her ex’ted and to render a just account of her administration &c when thereunto lawfully required
