May 4^th 1956 – Late Mrs E A Shepherdson

There was a large attendance at the funeral of Mrs Elizabeth Ann Shepherson, Sunnyside, Monkswood, at St Mathews Church Monkswood.

Mrs Shepherdson, who was 70, was the wife of Mr John Shepherdson, vicar’s warden for many years at St Mathews Church.

Mrs Shepherdson was a very keen church-worker, particularly with the Sunday School and Mother’s Union.

Canon D Ivor Jones conducted services at the house and church, where he was assisted by Mr B Wray, who read the lesson. Miss Wrintmore was organist.

Mr S W Griffiths, Nantyderry.

The death has occurred at the Garage, Nantyderry, of Mr Stafford William Griffiths, after a long illness.

Mr Griffiths was well known in the haulage and contracting business in the district.

Internment took place in Kemeys Commander Church where the Rev. T Trevor Davies officiated and Mr John Hunter was organist, owing to the illness of Miss Messenger.

The funeral took place at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, of Mrs Mary Jane Spanner, aged 67, of South Street, Yarmouth, formerly of Goytrey.
She was the eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs R Dobbs, of New House, Goytrey.

The funeral of Mrs Mary Elizabeth Litten, aged 73 of Westleigh, Goytre, took place at Saron Baptist Chapel graveyard Goytre. A service at the house was conducted by the Rev. A Davies and at Saron by the Rev. A Rees.
