T73 – Kingston

Kingston Jamaica 17th August 1807

Dear Sir,
I am in receipt of your favour of 6th May though I have been hitherto so situated to appear in your eyes acting an unjustifiable part with respect to the estate of our friend R.S. yet I hope in the end you will acknowledge I have been led into a train of unforeseen circumstances than any assign.
The present is not the time for a complete explanation of the whole business but I trust when Mr Doole comes of age I shall be able to satisfy both you and him as well as any person he may well appoint to act for him, that all my transactions in regard to it have been fair and I make little doubt of settling the accounts and paying over the balance without any disputes.
