The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden Georgianna Walters widow the relict and administratrix of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the Reverend William Richard Walters late of Goytre aforesaid Clerk deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of her     the said Georgianna Walters       or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons for her   and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the Registry of the Consistory Court of Llandaff     on or before the last day of April         next ensuing and the same goods chattels and credits and all other the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased do well and faithfully administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts of the said deceased which he   did owe at   his     death and then the legacies contained and specified in the said Will annexed to the said Letters of Administration so to be committed as far as his       goods chattels and credits will thereto extend and the law charge     and further do make or cause to be made a true and just accompt of her   said administration when       shall be thereunto lawfully required. And all the rest and reside of the said goods chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon the said administrat accompt and not otherwise disposed of in the said Will the same being first examined and allowed of by the Judge or Judges of the said Court for the time being shall distribute and pay in such manner and form as shall be limited by the direction of the said Judge. I William Richard of ye pish of Goytre being in good health of body and sound and p’fect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God doe make and ordain this my present last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say);

First and principally I comend my soul into ye hands of Almighty God hopeing through ye meritts death and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ to have fully and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and may God comitt it to ye earth to be decently buried att ye discretion of my extrs. Hereaft5er named and as touching ye disposion of such good as God hath bestowed upon me I dispose of as foll;

Imp: I devise, give and bequeath unto my son Richard ye house wherein I do now inhabit and ye gardens and orchards, courts, lodges, stables yards and all ye appurtenances thereto belonging and ye brewhouse and one other house where Joan Richard now inhabits and all ye lands thereto belonging or any other part or pieces of lands that I have possessed but of waste ground called Pelleny and during ye term of ye natural life of ye said Richard without impeachment of waste.

And after my decease and for and after ye decease of Richard my said son I give and bequeath ye aforesaid houses and lands and all ye (paper creased) unto my daughter Mary during ye term of her natural life without impeachment of waste naturally, appurtenances and easements thereto belonging and after the decease of my said daughter Mary I do give and bequeath ye house wherin I now inhabit with all ye freehold thereunto belonging and all ye outhouses hereunto my grandchild Anne Evans ye daughter of William Evans of Langibby for and during the term of her natural life with impeachment of waste and after her decease I devise, give and bequeath ye said houses all the freehold with appurtenances unto my nephew William Ffrancis and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary all ye frey and corn groweing upon ye ground all my cattle and horses after my decease and all my household stuff except one long table in ye hall and one great vate wch lyeth upon ye standing in ye brewhouse.

My will is that they shall be as standers in ye house and that my son Richard is to have one vate ye wch lieth in ye brewhouse and all ye fores.d.

Goods that I bequested unto my daughter Mary is upon condition and consideration that she will pay all my just debts oweing to nominate appoint, ordain my daughter Mary to be sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In the name of God Amen. I William Prosser of the parish of Goytre in the county of Monmouth, yeoman, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory (blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament.

Vitz: First I give, devise and bequeath all the right, interest and title I have and shall have in a house commonly called and known by the name of the Crown and Sceptre with its appurtenances, situate in the town of Abergavenny unto my well beloved wife Esther Prosser. To hold to her, my said wife for and during the term of her natural life, provided she remains and continuing unmarried, otherwise only until the day of her marriage. And from and immediately after her decease or day of her marriage, I give, devise and bequeath the same unto my eight children now living, to hold to them, my said children, their heirs and assigns respectively for ever.

Item: I give and bequeath the use of the rest, residue and remainder of my goods, chattles and personal estate unto my said wife during the term of her natural life, or on the day of her marriage which ever shall first happen: and from immediately after her decease or day of her marriage as afores’d.

Item: I give and bequeath the same unto my said eight children to be equally divided share and share alike between them.

I do hereby nominate and appoint my said beloved wife Esther and my brother in law Richard Jones yeoman, to be joint executors of this my last will and testament herby revoking and disannulling all former wills and testaments by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight.

Yf my eldest sonne Morgan Willm doe not pay or cause to be payed unto the said John Willm the entire sume of £x sterling in at or upon the feast day of St Michell thearchangell next after that the said Morgan shall accomplishe the adge of xxi yeares.

And if it happen that the said John Willm doe decese before that he be payed of the said £x then I bequeth the said £x unto Thomas Willm my sonne then survivinge after the same maner & forme afore specified.

And likewise if it fortune that the said Thomas Willm shall happen to decease after the maner & forme afore specified that then I bequeth his part & porcion as aforesaid unto Edward Willm my sonne then living after the same maner & forme afore mensioned.

First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of God my redeemer my body I committ to the earth to be decently buryed as to my worldly estate goods and effects I give devise bequeath and dispose of the same as followeth. First I give and bequeath unto my son William Morgan one clock and case and one long table and the skreen now in the kitchen of my dwelling house. Alsoe I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my household goods to and equally amongst my three daugters Elizabeth, Mary and Anne share and share alike. This Will was proved at Abergavenny on the eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord 1743 before the Reverend William Harris, Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellor’s Surrogate by Ann Morgan the daughter and executrix therein named who was first upon the holy Evangelists personally sworn well & faithfully to execute the same to the truth of the inventory by her exhibited and to render a just account of her administration &c when thereunto lawfully required

An inventary of all and singular the goods chattles and creditts of William Morgan late of the parish of Manhilad in the County of Monmouth and Diocese of Landaffe Gent deceased made valued and appraised ye 10th day of October in the year of our Lord Christ 1743 by William Morgan and Azariah Morgan appraisors as follows that is to say
