In the name of God Amen. I James Rosser of the parish of Goytre in the County of Monmouth and in the diocese of Landaff; Being in perfect health, mind and memory do make and ordain my last Will and Testament in the following maner.

First of all I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the grave to be buried in a Christian burial at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and as for what wordly goods that God has been pleased to bestow upon me I give and bequeath in manner following.

First I give and bequeath to my son John Rosser the sume of one shilling to be paid by my executors at the end of twelve months after my decease.

I also give and bequeath to my daughter Ann, the wife of James Watkin the sume of one shilling to be paid at the end of twelve months after my decease and also all the rest of my goods, cattle and chattles.

I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth during her natural life and after her decease to my daughter Margaret whom I nominate and appoint my executors and administrators jointly, revoking and disannulling all former wills and testaments by me made; ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this second day of January in the year of our Lord 1746/7.

Lastly I nominate and apoint Ann Lewis to be my sole executrix to whom I give and bequeath (affeter dischargeing my funerall expences) all my personal estate.

I Jane Charles of the pish of Goytre in the County of Monmouth &c w^th in the Dioces of Llandaff, spinster, being sick in body but in sound and perfect memory, praise be therefore given to Almighty God; do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in mannor & form following y^t is to say.

First & principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through ye meritts death and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ to have full & free pardon & forgiveness of all my sins & to inheritt everlasting life, & my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor and executrix herinafter named.

As touching the goods that God hath bestowed upon me I do dispose of in as followeth:

Imps: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved niece Mary Charles the wife – Jn^o. Morgan Harry of the parish of Goytre & William her younger son by the s^d. Jn^o. Morgan Harry, the sum of eighteen pounds between them both to be equally divided after my decease, the w^ch. sum are in the hands of the persons hereafter mention’d, y^t. it is to say y^e. sum of six pounds in the hands of Francis Williams of y^e. pish of Goytre; the sum of eight pounds in the hands of Anne Morgan of y^e. pish of Lanover widdow, y^e. sum of three pounds in the hands of W^m. Andrew of the pish of Goytre, the sum of one pound in the hands of James Rosser Jenkin in the said pish of Goytre;

Lastly I nominate, appoint and ordain my trusty well beloved niece Mary Charles y^e. wife of Jn^o. Morgan Harry & William her youngest son by the said John Morgan Harry to be sole exector and executrix of this my last will and testament, Witness my hand and seal the day and year above written

In the name of God Amen. I Jane Jones of the parish of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth, widow, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:

I give and devise all that my dwelling house, buildings, lands and premises called by the name of Pen Court Robin situate in the said parish of Goytrey unto my son Mordecai Jones, his heirs and assigns for ver.

I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds unto my daughter Rachel Jones.

I give and bequeath the sum of five pounds unto Mary Jones the daughter of my son Thomas Jones

I give and bequeath the sum of thirty three pounds unto Mary Ann the eldest daughter of my daughter Mary, the wife of William James.

I give and bequeath the like sum of thirty three pounds unto Rachel James another daughter of the said Mary.

I give and bequeath thirty three pounds unto Gwellian James, another daughter of the said Mary Jones, all which said the three last mentioned legacies I direct to be paid to the said Mary Ann, Rachel and Gwellian as and when they shall respectively attain the age of one and twenty years, and I do direct the interest which will become due therever to be paid to each of them in the mean time.

I give and bequeath all my household furniture unto my said daughter Rachel.

I give and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects to what nature or kind soever subject and charged with the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the charges providing this my will unto my said son Mordecai Jones.

I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my said son Mordecai Jones sole executor of this my last will and treatment and do hereby declare this to be my last will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty nine.

In the name of God Amen this is the last Will & Testament of me Jenkin Rosser of the parish of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth yeoman as followeth.

First I give devise & bequeath all & singular my messuages lands tenements & real estate unto my wife Ann & her assigns for & dureing the term of her naturall life only & immediately from & after her decease I give devise & bequeath the same unto my eldest daughter Mary & to her heirs & assigns for ever subject nevertheless to the payment of the sume of forty pounds a piece to my two other daughters (to wit) Elizabeth (the wife of Richard Waters) & Margarett (the wife of Francis Williams) & to their executors administrators or assigns the same to be paid to my said two daughters Elizabeth & Margarett respectively or to their respective executors administrators or assigns within six months next after the decease of my said wife Ann.

And for the payment of the said sume of forty pounds a piece to my said daughters Elizabeth & Margarett respectively & to their respective executors administrators & assigns I do hereby charge & make chargeable all & singular my said messuages lands tenements & real estate wtsoever & wheresoever.

And in default of payment of the said severall sumes of forty pounds a piece in manner herein before mentioned or any part thereof my will is that my said two daughters Elizabeth & Margarett respectively or their respective executors administrators or assigns shall enter into & upon all & every my sd messuages lands tenements & real estate & have hold & enjoy the same untill payment be made of the said severall sumes of forty pounds a piece with all interest that shall be due for the same be well & truely paid & satisfied together with all costs & charges attending the same.

I give to my said wife Ann (out of my stock of cattle corn grain household stuff implements of husbandry & other personall estate whereof I shall die possessed) the sume of five pounds towards dischargeing & defraying my funerall expenses.

I also give to my said wife Ann all the ready money that shall be in my house at the time of my decease.

And as for all the rest & residue of my goods chattells household stuff implements of husbandry stock of cattle sheep horses mares geldings & all other my personall estate whatsoever I give & bequeath the same to my friend William Jenkins of Abergavenny Esquire his executors & administrators for ever in trust nevertheless that he the said William Jenkins his executors & administrators shall & will permitt & suffer my said wife Ann to have receive & take the use & benefitt thereof for & dureing the term of her natural life only and immediately after her decease in trust to & for the sole proper use & benefitt of my said two daughters Elizabeth & Margarett respectively & of their respective executors administrators & assigns (but subject to the payment of all such just debts as I shall owe at the time of my decease.

And I do hereby nominate & appoint my said wife Ann sole executrix of this my last Will & Testament. Dated the seventeenth day of July one thousand seven hundred & fifty one.

Wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or by writing. And this to be taken only form last will and testament and none other and first being penitent and sorry for my sins most humbly begging pardon and forgiveness for the same. I give and? my soul unto Almighty God my saviour and redeemer in whom by the merit of Jesus Christ and trust and believe assuredly to be saved and to have full remission and forgiveness of all my sins And now for the settling of my temporal estate and ? Goods as it hath pleased God far above my desert to bestow upon me.   I do order and give and dispose the same in manner and form following.

Ite First I ? Of my debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged.

Item give and bequeath towards my funeral expenses the sum of ten pounds to be paid by my executor thereafter named.

Ite I give and bequeath unto Jane and Gwenllian the daughters of David Beevan of Goytrey the sum of forty pounds to be equally divided between them and paid by my executor within the space of two years next after my decease towards the use of the said Jane and Gwenllian to be set out by my executor all the best advantage for ye said of the said Jane and Gwenllian.

Ite. I give and bequeath unto Charles Morgan of Llanvihangel juxta Usk the son of Wm Morgan of Goytre the sum of ten pounds to be paid within the space of two years next after my death.

Ite I give and bequeath unto Jane the wife of David Beevan of Goytrey the sum of ten pounds to be paid within the space of? Years next after my decease.

Ite I give and bequeath unto Gwenllian the wife of William Morgan William of Goytrey the sum of twenty shillings.

Ite. I give unto Ann the wife of William Watkins Thos of Goytrey and their son Richard and the sum of one pound to be divided between them.

Ite. I give unto Jon Watkin Thomas, Andrew Morgan, Jenkin William and Jas Rosser of Goytrey the sum of one pound to be equally divided between them:

Ite. I give unto Jane the wife of David Beevan of Goytrey all my wearing apparell.

All the rest and residue of my personal estate goods and chattels whatsoever I give and bequeath unto William Morgan of the parish of Goytrey whom I constitute name and appoint free and sole executor of this my last will and testament in witness thereof I the said Joan Richard alias Morgan to this my last will and sett my hand and seal the day and year above. In the name of God Amen I John Andrew of the pishe of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth & diocesse of Landaph being of pfect memory thank be to Almighty God giving? a serious consideration of the frailty and uncertainty of this psent life wherefore doe hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament in maner and form following, viz:

First and pincipall I comende my soul into the hands of Almighty God my only maker hopeing through the meritts and passion of Christ Jesus my saviour to have remission of my sines and to be ptaker of everlasting life and my body to be buried in a cristian buriall within the pishe church of Goytrey aforesaid.

Item: I give devise and bequeath all and singular my messuages, lands and tenements whatsoever situate lying and being wheresoe within the said pishe of Goytre in the said county of Monmouth with thire and everie of thire unto John Watkin and John Richard of the said pishe of Goytre yeomen thire executors administrators or assigns for and dureing the full terme of five hundred years commence from the day of my decease and ensuing and fully to be ended without impeachment of wast upon this truff? Sume of five pownds to be paid him at his adge of twentie and one yeares if he shall so long live. And not otherwise and if my said sonne William Andrew doe paie the said sume of fourty pownds unto my said sonne John and the said James Cowles in such time and space aforesaid that then the said terme of five hundred yeares to be voide determine and of none effect anything to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding and it is further my will intent and purpose that after such payment be made by my said sonne William Andrew in such maner and forme as afforesd that then and from thence the said William Andrew to have and to hould the p’misses aforesaid and everie pte therof for and during the terme of his natural life and after his decease to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such issue unto John Andrew my said sonne to the right and next heirs of the said John Andrew forever.

Item: I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne William Andrew one coobort, one table boarde, one bedsteede and beding clothes that lyeth in the chamber biggest iern barr, two iern sledgis, two lime? Hamers one brasse potte.

Item: It is my will that my said sonne William Andrew doe paie or cause to be paid the sume of three pownds which I doe owe by bond unto my brother law Walter Hary of Goytre aforesaid.

Item: I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne John Andrew whom I doe nominate and appoint to be sole executor of this my last will and testament except fouer kovers of graine corne now growing I doe give and bequeath unto my said sonne William Andrew.

In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and sealle the fifteenth day of January in the fift yeare of thire Ma’sties raigne.

In the name of God Amen I John Cooke of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth Gent being of sound mind memory and understanding do this eighteenth day of July one thousand seven hundred and fifty make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following to wit.

First I commit my soul to Almighty God and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix herein after named.

I give devise and bequeath all my real estate whatsoever either in possession reversion or remainder unto my loving wife Cecilia for the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my son John Cooke and the heirs of his body and for the want of such issue I give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my sister Martha Grevile and to my nephews Capel and Ayree Cooke two sons of my late brother William Cooke and to their heirs and assigns forever as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants

And as for touching and concerning all and singular my personal estate I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said loving wife Cecilia whom I make sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Will or Wills by me heretofore made.
